Welcome to CBBSC!  Our site is currently under construction.

"Reading is the single most important skill a child needs to learn. Yet studies show that 61% of low-income families don’t have any books at all in their homes for their children."*  We can change this.  By making books accessible to children of any age, it is our goal to change these statistics.

The solution is simple.  Move the books from where there are no longer being used, to where they are so critically needed.  Children's Book Bank of South Carolina collects books and distributes them to "at-risk" children.  We are currently in the process of preparing our organization for deployment in Spartanburg County, and Greenville soon after.  Our goal is not to provide each child with one or two books, but a large variety of books for them to keep.

Working with school districts, social services, and our own reading intervention programs, we believe we can truly change the lives of an infinite number of children; as many as we possibly can.
